\n The government’s Great British Energy is to install new solar panels at The Hollies and Ipswich\u2019s new ambulance hub in\u00a0Ransomes Industrial Estate.\n<\/p>\n
\n These savings made from the solar panels are planned to be reinvested directly into frontline patient care and staff services.\n<\/p>\n
\n Ipswich MP Jack Abbott said: “I\u2019m proud that our local NHS services, including Ipswich\u2019s new ambulance hub and the Hollies, are benefitting from these new solar panel installations delivered by Great British Energy.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cCutting energy bills will free up vital resources for our frontline staff and improve patient care in our community.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cThis is a real win for Ipswich families, local services, and the environment, and it shows how investment in clean energy can make a tangible difference for people living and working here.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Together, the two sites are expected to save a combined total of \u00a3527,500 on energy bills over 30 years, which equates to approximately \u00a317,600 per year.\n<\/p>\n
\n The Hollies is projected to save an estimated \u00a37,100 annually, totalling \u00a3211,800 over the lifetime of the panels, while the Ipswich ambulance hub is expected to save around \u00a310,500 each year, amounting to \u00a3315,700 over 30 years.\n<\/p>\n
\n This development is part of the Great British Energy solar programme, a \u00a3180million match-funded scheme supporting about 200 hospitals and 200 schools across England.\n<\/p>\n

\n Chris Gormley, chief sustainability officer at NHS England, said: \u201cThese new solar panels are expected to save the NHS \u00a38.6m every year once all the projects are completed, adding up to \u00a3260m over their lifetime.\n<\/p>\n
