Plus, it\u2019s great for weight loss.<\/p>\n<p>You may like<\/p>\n<p>But rather than simply taking a stroll, you can boost your calorie burn by incorporating intervals, switching between periods of higher- and lower-intensity efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Backed up by <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/royalsocietypublishing.org\/doi\/full\/10.1098\/rspb.2024.1220\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/royalsocietypublishing.org\/doi\/full\/10.1098\/rspb.2024.1220\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">research<\/a> published by the Royal Society, Gonzalez says that shorter bouts can result in more calories being burned than walking at one steady pace.<\/p>\n<p>Ready to give it a try? You\u2019ll be able to speak in full sentences or sing.Steady: You\u2019ll be able to talk but not sing and will be breathing a little harder.Fast: You may need to take deeper breaths. Walk outdoors<\/p>\n<p id=\"89429d86-1b37-4566-8fd0-ef0ce1abca8f\">\u201cSince getting a dog last year, I realized the benefits of being outside,\u201d says Gonzalez. \u201cIt cleared my mind, I enjoyed the fresh air, experiencing different scenery daily, and the terrain change kept me on my toes.
