The news was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/marissa-mayer-sunshine-startup-shut-down\/\" target=\"_blank\">first reported by Wired<\/a>, which cited an email sent to Sunshine\u2019s shareholders.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dazzle is setting out to build an AI personal assistant, the report cited anonymous sources as saying, and added that all of Sunshine\u2019s employees will move to the new company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Almost all of Sunshine\u2019s investors, who include Norwest Venture Partners, Felicis Partners, and SV Angel, have signed off on the deal, Wired cited the sources as saying. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Originally founded in 2018, Sunshine first launched with a subscription app for contact management, dubbed \u201cSunshine Contacts.\u201d That product saw little adoption due to privacy concerns about privacy, and pretty much languished. In 2024, the service added <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2024\/03\/27\/marissa-mayers-startup-just-rolled-out-apps-for-group-photo-sharing-and-event-planning-and-the-internet-isnt-sure-what-to-think\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">event management and photo sharing<\/a> \u2014 with a touch of AI, of course \u2014 but with little success.
