At 43 years and 131 days old, Nonu became the oldest player ever to score a try in France\u2019s Top 14, doing so during his first appearance of the season for Toulon.<\/p>\n
Nonu\u2019s record-breaking try came in a 32-35 defeat to Bayonne at the Parc des Sports Jean Dauger last weekend. <\/p>\n
Coming off the bench for a 25-minute cameo, the two-time Rugby World Cup winner scored in the 57th minute, just one minute after entering the field, narrowing Bayonne\u2019s lead to six points. Despite his effort, Toulon were unable to secure a win, marking their first loss of the season.<\/p>\n
This wasn\u2019t the first time Nonu had made Top 14 history. He initially set the record as the oldest try scorer at the end of last season against Castres, but his latest achievement only strengthens that milestone.<\/p>\n
Following the defeat, Toulon sit ninth in the league standings, with a game in hand after their previous match against La Rochelle was postponed. <\/p>\n
The team will look to bounce back when they host Pau this Saturday, currently level with Toulouse at the top of the table.<\/p>\n
