{"id":171942,"date":"2025-10-01T03:58:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-01T03:58:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/171942\/"},"modified":"2025-10-01T03:58:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T03:58:10","slug":"horse-racing-2025-waterhouses-team-very-confident-vauban-can-win-the-metropolitan-rsn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/171942\/","title":{"rendered":"Horse Racing 2025: Waterhouse&#8217;s Team Very Confident Vauban Can Win The Metropolitan | Rsn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"v2_larger-content\">  Vauban is currently $9.50.<\/p>\n<p>Emma Coleman who works with the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable has revealed that Vauban is looking incredible ahead of the Group 1 Metropolitan (2400m) on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Vauban was formerly trained in Ireland by Willie Mullins, before making the move to Australia earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>The import has started as the favourite in the past two Melbourne Cup&#8217;s yet failed to live up to expectations.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the past disappointment around the horse, Coleman is confident that Waterhouse and Bott have the gelding in winning shape for the Metropolitan \u2013 especially from gate 7.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/eepurl.com\/jm2mdQ\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/1759059731_401_eDM_SIGN_UP.png\" alt=\"eDM SIGN UP\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had one job to do yesterday and that was to draw his barrier,\u201d Coleman told SENTrack and RSN\u2019s Giddy Up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, when I got barrier 7, I could actually take a breath.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s my favourite horse in the stable. He\u2019s absolutely thriving that horse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFingers crossed he will win The Metrop, but from our point of view he looks the best he has all prep.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is absolutely glowing. He\u2019s a very happen horse at present.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTim Clark galloped him yesterday and he could not have been happier with his last piece of work heading into Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s a winnable race for him from that barrier, so from our side of things it\u2019s all roads to The Metrop on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we could get a Group 1 with him on Saturday it would be pretty amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gareth Hall also revealed that friend of the show Dean Evans from Winning Edge Investments has a minor share in the import.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hall, Evans was critical of Tim Clark\u2019s ride on Vauban in the Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes (2000m), where he finished sixth.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to that ride, Evans believes Vauban will only improve in The Metropolitan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur friend Dean Evans has a share in Vauban,\u201d Hall said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was a little critical of the ride from Timmy Clark (in the Kingston Town).
