Happy Wednesday everyone, and it is a happy one, because Sony has released a new PS5 firmware update.<\/p>\n

Taking the console’s system software to version 25.06-12.02.00, the patch is available to download and install right now, weighing in at about 1.3 GB.<\/p>\n

So, what does it do? Here’s the official patch note, singular:<\/p>\n

We’ve made some security fixes to the system software.<\/p>\n

It’s just a minor one, then \u2014 at least in terms of features. The new PS5 firmware simply plugs some security holes.<\/p>\n

It’s a tad less interesting than the previous firmware update<\/a> for the machine, which brought a new power saver option for supported PS5 games. It also made it so you can pair a DualSense controller to more than one device.<\/p>\n

Both are pretty nice additions, if not the most exciting in the world.<\/p>\n

Anyway, there we are \u2014 another firmware update in the bank.<\/p>\n
