{"id":172820,"date":"2025-10-01T12:56:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-01T12:56:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/172820\/"},"modified":"2025-10-01T12:56:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T12:56:11","slug":"go-ahead-for-nhs-site-in-lowestoft-to-ease-its-parking-woes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/172820\/","title":{"rendered":"Go-ahead for NHS site in Lowestoft to ease its parking woes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  A bid by NHS Property Services (NHSPS) to demolish the structures at the back of Kirkley Mill Health Centre in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lowestoftjournal.co.uk\/local-news\/lowestoft-news\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Lowestoft<\/a> and create 40 new parking bays has been given the go-ahead.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Proposals lodged with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lowestoftjournal.co.uk\/topics\/east-suffolk-council\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">East Suffolk Council<\/a> in July said it would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lowestoftjournal.co.uk\/news\/25328403.nhs-site-lowestoft-tries-ease-parking-woes\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">improve insufficient car parking at the clinic on Clifton Road.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The plans were permitted under delegated powers this week.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  There are currently three car parking areas at the health centre containing 74 parking bays.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  But with an increased numbers of users, documents said: &#8220;This is resulting in patients being late or missing appointments entirely, which is putting further strain on the NHS system.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The buildings set to be demolished are at the back of the health centre and are currently vacant.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The main surgery building is unaffected by the plans.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The new parking area also includes two EV chargers and external lighting for the car park.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  With no objections, approval was granted with conditions.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  A delegated report from the council&#8217;s case officer said: &#8220;Increased parking at this NHS site would be a public benefit.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A bid by NHS Property Services (NHSPS) to demolish the structures at the back of Kirkley Mill Health&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":172821,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[43],"tags":[102,2960,56,54,55],"class_list":{"0":"post-172820","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-healthcare","8":"tag-health","9":"tag-healthcare","10":"tag-uk","11":"tag-united-kingdom","12":"tag-unitedkingdom"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/172820","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=172820"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/172820\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/172821"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=172820"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=172820"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=172820"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
