{"id":175566,"date":"2025-10-02T17:04:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T17:04:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/175566\/"},"modified":"2025-10-02T17:04:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T17:04:08","slug":"ntras-bonus-depreciation-victory-sets-stage-for-strong-obs-october-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/175566\/","title":{"rendered":"NTRA&#8217;s Bonus Depreciation Victory Sets Stage for Strong OBS October Sale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BY STEVE KOCH<\/p>\n<p>The National Thoroughbred Racing Association secured permanent 100% <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftboa.com\/bonus-depreciation-opportunities-and-considerations-for-thoroughbred-horse-and-farm-owners-after-ob3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bonus depreciation<\/a> through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed into law in early July, continuing the organization\u2019s track record of delivering meaningful legislative wins in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFederal tax legislation that impacts Thoroughbred investment has been a longstanding focus of the NTRA,\u201d said Tom Rooney, NTRA President and CEO. \u201cThe importance of the return of 100% bonus depreciation for the horse racing industry cannot be overstated. It\u2019s an important tax incentive that benefits buyers and sellers in all markets, including Florida.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The impact was immediately evident at Keeneland, where the September sale achieved record-breaking results with average prices rising 17% and median prices jumping 14% over 2024. Industry participants roundly cited favorable tax legislation as a key factor in the unprecedented demand.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftboa.com\/mailto:abbieroadfarms@yahoo.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload aligncenter wp-image-25395 size-fusion-600\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/47753-Abbie-Road-Farms_1200w2w-600x400.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"  data- data-orig-\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Terry Finley, President and CEO of West Point Thoroughbreds, credited NTRA\u2019s Washington effectiveness with delivering tangible results. \u201cThe return of 100% bonus depreciation was perfect timing for the start of yearling sales season and is the latest example of how the NTRA\u2019s advocacy at the federal level has a direct and material impact on our business,\u201d Finley said. \u201cAs a result, West Point Thoroughbreds has purchased dozens of yearlings alone and in partnership at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
