Coronation Street<\/a> favourite Channique Sterling-Brown<\/a> is leaving the ITV<\/a> soap.<\/p>\n The actress, 28, has played solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey<\/a> since 2022.<\/p>\n Daughter of Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) and Aggie<\/a> (Lorna Laidlaw<\/a>), the character has been at the centre of several huge storylines during the last three years.<\/p>\n Metro understands that Channique has decided to call time on the cobbles to pursue new projects, with her departure expected in the coming months.<\/p>\n A source told\u00a0Express.co.uk<\/a>: \u2018[Leaving party] posters are up around the\u00a0Corrie\u00a0set behind the scenes, it is common knowledge that Channique is going, and cast have been informed.\u2019<\/p>\n Dee-Dee\u2019s Coronation Street highlights<\/p>\n Initially supporting her father through his gambling addiction, her troubles deepened when she met the dashing Joel Deering (Calum Lill)<\/a>, who, on face value, seemed like a genuinely good fella.<\/p>\n It later transpired to viewers that he had been grooming vulnerable teenager Lauren Bolton<\/a> (Cait Fitton<\/a>), later impregnating and assaulting her.<\/p>\n To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web \t\t Poor Lauren vanished for months, and in the meantime, Dee-Dee\u2019s suspicions began to rise.<\/p>\n The truth came out, with Lauren smashing him around the head with a rock and leaving his body in a river.<\/p>\n After his death, Dee-Dee discovered she was expecting his child, but felt unable to bond with the infant and decided to let her brother James<\/a> (Jason Callender<\/a>) adopt baby Laila.<\/p>\n She struggled to keep a distance from her daughter<\/a>, and the two are now co-parenting her.<\/p>\n What\u2019s still to come for Dee-Dee?<\/p>\n More recent stories have seen Dee-Dee rebuild her life in the wake of Joel\u2019s twisted behaviour, meeting newcomer Ollie (Raphael Akuwudike).<\/a><\/p>\n \t\t \t\t As we know, nobody comes to Weatherfield without a secret, and Ollie has already began to make some waves with some interesting questions towards one of the other locals.<\/p>\n In a conversation with Toyah Habeeb<\/a> (Georgia Taylor<\/a>), he asked her about how her unusual name came about.<\/p>\n She explained that mum Janice (Vicky Entwistle) had been a fan of Toyah Wilcox, though she admitted that she was nothing like her namesake.<\/p>\n What is his game?<\/p>\n Who has left Coronation Street in 2025?<\/p>\n Channique joins a long line of cast changes to hit Corrie<\/a> over the last year.<\/p>\n So far we\u2019ve seen actors Shelley King<\/a>, Paddy Bever<\/a>, Sally Ann Matthews<\/a>, Charlotte Jordan<\/a>, Jack Carroll, Colson Smith<\/a> and Adam Hussai<\/a>n all wave farewell.<\/p>\n They join long-serving Helen Worth<\/a> and Sue Cleaver<\/a>, who played Gail Platt and Eileen Grimshaw, in the list of departees.<\/p>\n Daniel Brocklebank<\/a> is also expected to bow out of his Billy Mayhew role, as fan-favourite Catherine Tyldesley reprises her Eva Price part, and is about to step into the Rovers Return as the new landlady.<\/p>\n Arrow
