\n James Foster, who was born and raised in the city, will be fighting on November 15 to raise money for Child Autism UK.\n<\/p>\n
\n The match is part of the UWCB event at the BIC Arena in Bournemouth.\n<\/p>\n
\n James is 27 and works at Booker’s Wholesalers in Salisbury and has never had any boxing experience.\n<\/p>\n
\n James said that the cause was “deeply personal” to him.\n<\/p>\n
\n Child Autism UK supports autistic children and their families through early intervention and practical support.\n<\/p>\n
\n In the UK, around one in 100 children are on the autism spectrum, with more than 170,000 people currently waiting for a diagnosis.\n<\/p>\n
\n The charity provides support to families, including diagnosis guidance, helplines, and early behavioural intervention using evidence-based strategies.\n<\/p>\n
\n James said: “This has always been something that I have wanted to do, and I am looking forward to getting into training camp.\n<\/p>\n

\n “That experience has motivated me to take on this challenge, and while the training will be intense, the purpose behind it has kept me focused.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I think that autism in children still doesn’t get enough recognition or the attention that it needs.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The fighters will wear headgear and will fight with 16-ounce gloves, and they will find out their opponents on the day.\n<\/p>\n
