Actress and entrepreneur, Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has shed light on her decision to take her husband\u2019s surname following her marriage to Afrobeats star, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade better known as Mr Eazi.<\/p>\n
DAILYPOST reports that Temi Otedola, officially adopted her husband\u2019s surname, taking on the name Temiloluwa Ajibade<\/p>\n
The move, however, ignited online criticism as many argued that she abandoned the influential Otedola name that has long defined her public persona.<\/p>\n
In an interview with BBC on Wednesday, Temi described the decision as a personal choice.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m now a married woman, and the obvious thing for me was to take my husband\u2019s name. But it\u2019s my decision, and I respect that every woman has the right to choose,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n
The actress also explained that keeping her relationship private has helped her control her public image.<\/p>\n
\u201cMoving in silence allows you to build your own story and share it when you\u2019re ready.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking on her father\u2019s recently released memoir, Temi said the book offers the world insight into his decades-long entrepreneurial journey.<\/p>\n
She praised his resilience and revealed that his decision not to involve his children directly in his companies pushed them to carve their own paths.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt first I was disappointed, but it turned out to be a blessing. It encouraged us to create our own way,\u201d she noted, adding that his determination during difficult times remains her greatest source of inspiration.<\/p>\n
Temi further acknowledged her privileged upbringing, stressing the importance of being honest about it.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, absolutely. You will never hear me deny it.
