Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> has continued to relentlessly complain about his show’s brief suspension, this time taking aim at President Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kimmel called Trump a\u00a0‘son of a b****’ as he appeared on buddy Stephen Colbert<\/a>‘s late night show Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The entertainer made the jibe at Trump after the president apparently celebrated Disney taking the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show off air two weeks ago.<\/p>\n

Trump hailed the show’s suspension as ‘great news for America’ and accused Kimmel of having ‘zero talent’ and ‘worse ratings than even Colbert’.<\/p>\n

The Jimmy Kimmel Live! program was suspended over remarks Kimmel made about Charlie Kirk<\/a>‘s suspected killer, which also saw the host accuse Republicans trying to seek political gain from the assassination.<\/p>\n

Disney made the call to ‘return’ the show last Tuesday, despite the program’s tanking ratings which are\u00a0second only to soon-to-be cancelled Colbert.<\/p>\n

But his return to late night TV has not put an end to Kimmel’s complaints with the host bashing both Trump and Vice President JD Vance<\/a>\u00a0during his first nights back.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kimmel, however, could not keep his criticisms to his own platform and also blasted the president on Colbert’s show.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Colbert appeared to initiate the discourse as he probed his friend about his show’s four-episode cancellation.<\/p>\n

‘You started as a radio disc jockey, as you said,’ Colbert said to Kimmel. ‘When you were spinning platters and making with the banter, did you ever think the president of the United States would be celebrating your unemployment?’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Colbert’s question prompted a wave of boos from the audience, as Kimmel slyly replied: ‘I mean, that son of a b****, you know?’<\/p>\n

‘Mister son of a b****,’ Colbert echoed back.<\/p>\n

Kimmel then went on to clarify that he never thought the nation would be led by a commander-in-chief who celebrates\u00a0‘hundreds of Americans’ losing their jobs.<\/p>\n

‘I never even imagined there would ever be a situation in which the president of our country was celebrating hundreds of Americans losing their jobs,’ he said.<\/p>\n

‘Somebody who took pleasure in that. That, to me, is the absolute opposite of what a leader of this country is supposed to be.’<\/p>\n

Kimmel added that he hopes ‘we don’t have another president like this again’.<\/p>\n

The White House has responded to Kimmel’s criticisms on Colbert, with spokeswoman\u00a0Abigail Jackson telling Daily Mail: ‘I’m sure all three of Jimmy Kimmel’s viewers appreciate his sad excuse for “comedy”.’<\/p>\n

Stephen Colbert also appeared on Kimmel’s show Tuesday night, during which Colbert revealed how he was on the air when he learned ABC had axed Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/p>\n

Kimmel’s comments about Trump came just one day after he took shots at Vance for telling\u00a0Fox News<\/a>\u00a0the program had been cut ‘because advertisers\u00a0don’t like him because his ratings aren’t very good’.<\/p>\n

After playing back the clip, Kimmel dismissed Vance’s claim as ‘bullsh*t’.<\/p>\n

He then bragged to his viewers about the show being broadcast to ‘100 percent of the country’, following television giants Sinclair and Nexstar’s decision<\/a> to return his show to its affiliates late last week.<\/p>\n

The number was at\u00a0around 75 percent before, as a total of 70 ABC affiliates<\/a> abstained from the host’s anticipated TV return.<\/p>\n

For ABC and more than 200 of its local-level stations, that happened on September 23. Despite the holdouts, the episode received high ratings –\u00a06.5million total viewers.<\/p>\n

By Thursday, though, nearly two-thirds of that audience had largely evaporated, leaving Kimmel with 2.3million total viewers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Like other legacy media-run late night shows, Jimmy Kimmel Live! has also seen its audience dwindle over the past decade.<\/p>\n

Previously, the program averaged 2.4million viewers in 2015. Today, the average is around 1.6million – second only to the soon-to-be cancelled\u00a0The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.\u00a0<\/p>\n

NBC’s Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers account for third and fourth, respectively.<\/p>\n

Jimmy Kimmel Live! was temporarily axed after the host\u00a0criticized ‘the MAGA gang’ for ‘desperately trying to characterize’ Kirk’s suspected killer ‘as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it’.<\/p>\n

Kirk was killed on September 10 while speaking at a college campus in southern Utah.<\/p>\n

Kimmel also played a clip of Trump answering a question about how he was coping with the youth activist’s death to poke fun at the president’s mourning process.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He was reprimanded two days later by Federal Communications Commissioner Chairman Brendan Carr, who during a conversation with conservative podcaster Benny Johnson, urged affiliates to push back on ABC and Disney.<\/p>\n

The FCC boss claimed he was considering an investigation into ABC over Kimmel’s comments. Within hours, both Sinclair and Nexstar told Disney they would not air Kimmel’s show. Disney, that day, decided to pull the show completely.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The decision sparked protests and might have been a factor in an attack on\u00a0ABC affiliate ABC10 (KXTV), according to investigators.<\/p>\n

The attack saw three shots fired into the station in Sacramento and the FBI has since arrested a suspect in the case. No one was injured.<\/p>\n
