Bargain Hunt’s Roo Irvine was forced to apologise to the team after she suffered a major blunder at auction. BBC presenter Natasha Raskin Sharp was in Doune, close to Sterling in Scotland, for another instalment of the antique show. She welcomed a fresh set of Reds and Blues hoping to succeed on the popular programme.<\/a><\/p>\n The two teams searched the Scottish antique centre <\/a>hoping to find a bargain. They were each provided with \u00a3300 and an hour to locate three impressive items to take to auction.<\/p>\n Iain and Jessica made up the Reds, who were partnered up with antique specialist Roo Irvine. They picked up a brass tortoise for \u00a310, a diamond ring for \u00a3110 and a pair of bright yellow art glass vases for \u00a345.<\/a><\/p>\n The team went up against Luke and Morgan over on the Blues alongside expert Danny Sebastian. After an hour of searching, they scooped up a set of salt and pepper shakers for \u00a338, a fabric footstool for \u00a350 and a wooden spinning chair for \u00a392.<\/p>\n But when it came to auction, <\/a>Roo was forced to apologise to her teammates. The Reds broke even at auction, before the expert came in with her bonus buy.<\/p>\n Their three items failed to make any profit, so they were feeling hopeful when Roo brought in her additional purchase.<\/a><\/p>\n She purchased a silver and diamond ring for \u00a367, and hoped it would make them profit at auction. Roo Irvine felt the pressure as the final item. She said: “I’m the difference between a profit and a loss.”<\/p>\n Speaking to auctioneer Anita,<\/a> Natasha asked how much she thought the ring could make. Anita explained she thought it was worth \u00a320 to \u00a340.<\/p>\n When Roo heard its value,<\/a> she was shocked and apologised to the Reds, who had decided to put all of their trust in her decision.<\/p>\n Roo said: “Oh god that’s a low estimate I’m really sorry.” In the end, it sold at auction for just \u00a320, making a \u00a347 loss. Therefore, the Reds’ overall score was minus \u00a347.<\/a><\/p>\n The Blues managed to do slightly better, although neither of the teams were able to make a profit on the BBC programme.
