Robert Garcia<\/a> is viewed by many as being one of the best boxing trainers in the world.<\/p>\n

After a successful career of his own that saw him win the IBF super-featherweight title, Garcia became a boxing trainer and has worked with some of the biggest names in the sport.<\/p>\n

He has trained over 15 world champions, including the likes of Anthony Joshua, Nonito Donaire and Bam Rodriguez, along with rising stars like super-welterweight sensation Vergil Ortiz.<\/p>\n

When it came to deciding who the most talented he ever trained was, he told TalkSport<\/a> that while it was a tough decision \u2013 and that he would omit Mikey Garcia due to the family ties \u2013 there was one man who was above the rest.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we are talking about talent, discipline and heart then Bam Rodriguez, Vergil Ortiz and Nonito Donaire are up there. I try to keep family out of my favourites because that is my brother Mikey [Garcia]. Mikey was very talented but if I had to single out one I would probably stick with Nonito Donaire. He was a warrior and an absolutely fantastic fighter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Donaire is a four-weight world champion, having picked up world honours at flyweight, bantamweight, super bantamweight and featherweight.<\/p>\n

He is the oldest boxer in history to win a bantamweight world title at the age of 38, and competed as recently as June 2025 at the age of 42, with his record standing at 43 wins and 8 defeats.<\/p>\n

Along with naming the best fighter he ever trained, Garcia also recently gave his verdict on the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford fight, which \u2018Bud\u2019 won by unanimous decision.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Robert Garcia is viewed by many as being one of the best boxing trainers in the world.
