St Helens received a terrorist threat on social media during Saturday night\u2019s Super League play-off semi-final. The Saints were in action against Hull KR at Craven Park and ultimately saw their season come to an end as they lost 20-12 in east Hull.<\/p>\n

However, following the full-time whistle, head coach Paul Wellens was spotted to speaking to police officers after the club received a terrorist threat through their Instagram account. The club reported the message to their ground safety officer and both clubs are taking the threat very seriously.<\/p>\n

Wellens was asked about why he was speaking to police after the game before the club\u2019s press officer stepped in to explain the situation.<\/p>\n

And, a policeman was spotted by the club coach as the players boarded for their return trip to Merseyside.<\/p>\n

The club spokesman said: \u201cWe had a terrorist threat to the Saints Instagram account. We reported it to our ground safety officer. Our ground safety officer spoke to the GSO here and they\u2019re taking it with the utmost seriousness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, St Helens\u2019 season came to an unfortunate conclusion on Saturday night as the Robins progressed to next week\u2019s Grand Final.<\/p>\n

Mikey Lewis scored the first try of the game at Craven Park to hand KR the advantage in the game before Joe Burgess touched down to ensure the Saints<\/a> went in at the break 12-0 down.<\/p>\n

Saints hit back through Deon Cross just after the break but ultimately an Oliver Gildart brace settled the contest, despite Harry Robertson going over late.<\/p>\n
