Anti-migrant protesters chanted \u2018you just burnt to toast\u2019 as firefighters rushed hosepipes into a migrant hotel in east London<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf<\/a> was searched for signs of fire this afternoon, London Fire Brigade confirmed.<\/p>\n Firefighters were seen carrying hoses into the building as the fire alarm was heard ringing.<\/p>\n Anti-migrant protesters have regularly gathered outside the five-star property since it was revealed to be housing asylum seekers this summer.<\/p>\n A clip of the hotel on Sunday afternoon showed demonstrators chanting \u2018you just burnt to toast\u2019 as emergency workers rushed into the hotel.<\/p>\n Union Jacks and St George\u2019s flags attached to a fence outside the hotel have since been removed, the Express<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n No sign of fire was found within the building, LFB confirmed.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: \u2018Firefighters responded to reports of a possible fire at a hotel on Marsh Wall, Tower Hamlets. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018Crews carried out a systematic search of the building for signs of fire, and none were discovered. \u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018The Brigade was first called about the incident at 4.50pm and crews from Millwall, Poplar, Whitechapel and surrounding fire stations have been sent to the scene.\u2019<\/p>\n Got a story?
