Frank Warren has slammed Boxxer\u2019s decision to launch their new venture with the BBC on the same night that Fabio Wardley takes on Joseph Parker<\/a>.
Warren\u2019s Queensberry Promotions announced the heavyweight clash between Wardley<\/a> and Parker<\/a>, who both hold interim versions of the world title, early last month with the pair set to meet on October 25 at London\u2019s o2 Arena.
However, Boxxer have since confirmed that the British heavyweight title fight between Frazer Clarke and Jeamie TKV<\/a> in Derby will take place on the same night.
It will be the debut show of Boxxer\u2019s new deal with BBC<\/a>, with the main event set to take place live and free-to-air on BBC Two between 8 and 10pm on the 25th. Meanwhile, Wardley and Parker will fight on DAZN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now Warren has suggested that the decision to make the two heavyweight fight nights clash on the same date is disrespectful to boxing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat annoys me most is that they wouldn\u2019t do it with football or with rugby,\u201d Warren told The Ring<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey just wouldn\u2019t do it but that’s how people treat boxing. That\u2019s why we get annoyed with networks. And when you consider it\u2019s the public broadcaster with the reach they\u2019ve got, I just don\u2019t think it\u2019s correct.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no respect for the fans, no respect for the sport at all. They just don\u2019t care. I think it\u2019s good that they are back in the sport but work with the sport, not against the sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re back in but the first thing you\u2019re doing is creating a problem. That\u2019s not what this should be about.\u201d<\/p>\n

October 25 will be the first live professional boxing shown on the BBC for more than two decades and kicks off their new venture with Boxxer.<\/p>\n

There has been no official confirmation of the length of the deal, or how many guaranteed fight nights there will be per year, but Warren is adamant they could have found a date which would not clash with DAZN\u2019s boxing output.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just disappointing that we\u2019ve got a clash,\u201d he added. \u201cWe thought we had done away with those days.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd when you look at it, they\u2019ve allegedly done a four-show deal so you\u2019ve got 48 weekends of the year that you could have put it on. Instead they\u2019ve clashed with the show we are putting on, which is a pain in the backside.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut having said that, we have the best show. We have the best fighters, we have the winners, the guys who are on our show are the winners. Wardley knocked Clarke out.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur is also the most significant fight.
