One Super League club have been dealt a recruitment blow, with an NRL target set to snub a move to the Northern Hemisphere in order to stay in the Australian competition.<\/p>\n
St Helens fans will be getting a case of deja vu, having already lost out on a big-name Aussie superstar. Josh Papali\u2019i looked set to make the move<\/a> to the north of England, however that switch was cancelled when current club Canberra Raiders decided to offer him a new contract, which he accepted.<\/p>\n Now, the Saints look set to miss out on another NRL prop forward, with recently-linked Melbourne Storm star Tui Kamikamica<\/a> set to remain Down Under.<\/p>\n The recent NRL Grand Finalist was the only player to take the field in Sunday\u2019s clash to not have a contract lined up for next year, however that may be about to change, with the Saints set to be let down once again.<\/p>\n Kamikamica\u2019s contract at the Storm runs out at the end of this season, and is reportedly on around $400,000 AUD per year. For him to stay at the club, he would need to take a huge wage cut down to $160,000 \u2013 the league\u2019s minimum wage \u2013 and that is something he isn\u2019t prepared to do.<\/p>\n For the first time in his career, he looks set for a switch, and it is reported that<\/a> South Sydney Rabbitohs are looking at signing the 21-time Fiji international.<\/p>\n Having just lost Jacob Host to the Saints, the Rabbitohs will be looking to fill that hole in their 30-man squad, and Kamikamica would be a suitable replacement.<\/p>\n However, for the Bunnies to be able to afford the 31-year-old, they themselves will have to move another player on, so a deal is far from being agreed yet.<\/p>\n
