Credit: HHG<\/p>\n<p>Abu Dhabi\u2019s leading healthcare group, PureHealth, has completed the acquisition of a 60% stake in Hellenic Healthcare Group (HHG), Greece\u2019s largest private healthcare provider, in a deal valued at $933 million (\u20ac800 million).<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition strengthens PureHealth\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/greekreporter.com\/2025\/01\/27\/greecs-largest-private-health-care-group-sold-abu-dhabi\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">international footprint<\/a> and diversifies its revenue streams beyond the Gulf region.<\/p>\n<p>Deal overview and ownership structure<\/p>\n<p>Under the transaction, CVC Capital Partners and HHG management retain a combined 40% stake. Prior to the deal, CVC Capital Partners owned 90% of HHG, while CEO Dimitris Spyridis held the remaining 10%.<\/p>\n<p>The investment gives PureHealth access to HHG\u2019s 11 hospitals, 23 diagnostic centers, and more than 6,900 healthcare professionals serving approximately 1.4 million patients annually.<\/p>\n<p>Strategic Rationale and Integration Plans<\/p>\n<p>PureHealth intends to integrate HHG\u2019s operations into its global network, with the goal of generating 50% of revenue from international markets.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Kamal Al Maazmi described the acquisition as part of building \u201ca globally connected healthcare platform,\u201d highlighting the company\u2019s ability to navigate complex regulatory approvals in mature markets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis expansion into Europe enables knowledge sharing and innovation, improving outcomes for patients across our network,\u201d Al Maazmi said.<\/p>\n<p>Enhancing operations and financial performance<\/p>\n<p>The HHG acquisition is expected to boost revenue diversification, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen PureHealth\u2019s overall financial performance.<\/p>\n<p>The deal complements prior international investments, including the $1.2 billion acquisition of UK hospital operator Circle Health Group and a 26% stake in Ardent Health for $500 million, along with Ardent\u2019s listing on the New York Stock Exchange.<\/p>\n<p>HHG: Greece\u2019s Premier Private Healthcare Network<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2018, HHG (Hellenic Healthcare Group) operates 11 hospitals and 16 diagnostic centers across Greece and Cyprus, with a total capacity exceeding 1,600 beds. The group was established to drive the continuous development of medical and nursing care in Greece, a sector presenting significant growth opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhg.gr\/en\/profile\/vision-and-mission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">HHG stated<\/a> that will focus on modernizing healthcare services to the highest international standards, promoting <a href=\"https:\/\/greekreporter.com\/greece\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Greece<\/a> as a hub for medical excellence, and attracting specialized healthcare professionals from both Greece and abroad. With a market value of approximately $11 billion, PureHealth has become a leading international healthcare operator, leveraging investments and acquisitions to expand its global footprint.<\/p>\n<p>The HHG acquisition follows recent deals including the purchase of the UK-based Circle Health Group and a minority stake in US-based Ardent Health Services in 2023.
