A major Trafford Centre<\/a> store will be closing its doors this month after being open for more than a decade.<\/p>\n The extravagant 2.2 million sq ft retail hub is home to more than 200 stores, as well as a host of restaurants<\/a>, bars, immersive experiences and a cinema. It also hosts a series of regular seasonal events and festivals throughout the year.<\/p>\n It has now been announced that Costa Coffee<\/a> will close one of its main bases in the shopping centre this month. The unit, situated within the Great Hall near the likes of Slim Chickens, Five Guys and Nandos, will close after almost 20 years.<\/p>\n Whilst an exact date has not been officially announced yet, bosses have said the caf\u00e9<\/a> will close \u2018later this month\u2019. The coffee chain, which has around 2,800 outlets in the UK and Ireland, will continue to have two other bases within the Trafford<\/a> Centre and Trafford Palazzo.<\/p>\n Stay connected with our City Life newsletter here<\/a><\/p>\n There is currently a Costa Coffee store within the NEXT store, and within the Odeon cinema. Both of these have been confirmed to be remaining open. Costa Coffee bosses said that staff working at the Great Hall are expected to be transferred to a number of nearby stores.<\/p>\n A Costa Coffee spokesperson told the M.E.N.: \u201cWe can confirm that our Costa Coffee store in the Trafford Centre will close for trade later this month. Our talented team of baristas will be redeployed to our nearby stores in central Manchester.<\/p>\n \u201cOur Costa Coffee stores in NEXT and The Odeon within the Trafford Centre remain open for customers to enjoy their favourite Costa coffee.\u201d<\/p>\n This year, The Trafford Centre has welcomed a host of new additions to its line-up, including collectible toy favourites POP MART. The store, famous for its Labubu dolls, saw people queue up for five hours to be first in line<\/a> on opening day.<\/p>\n The largest JD Sports store,<\/a> spanning 41,000 sq ft, also opened this summer which in addition to the shopping experience features a barber and a gaming zone.<\/p>\n There has also been a new Disney Store open<\/a> within a popular department store, as well as the openings of a posh chocolate shop<\/a> with \u00a3100 slabs and the first ever menswear store from a top designer brand that is loved by footballers.<\/a><\/p>\n Earlier this week, it was also announced that the opening of a new P.Louise store within Trafford Palazzo has been forced to be delayed for a second time.<\/a> Owners said that the beauty store was “probably not going to open this year\u201d after initially being set to launch in October.<\/p>\n![\"The](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/0_Darren-Robinson-Photography.jpg\")
