The Headless Horseman from Tim Burton\u2018s gothic fairy tale Sleepy Hollow <\/a>is mounting up to ride again in a new sequel, this time in comic book form.<\/p>\n

IDW Publishing\u2019s horror imprint, IDW Dark, will release Return to Sleepy Hollow, a new comic series set 15 years after the events of the movie, EW<\/a> reports this morning.<\/p>\n

Look for the comic to hit shelves on October 29.<\/p>\n

In the 1999 film,\u00a0Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp)\u00a0is sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate the decapitations of three people. While there, he becomes romantically entangled with Katrina Van Tassel (Christina Ricci) and discovers that the murderer is the legendary apparition\u00a0The Headless Horseman (Christopher Walken\u00a0and\u00a0Ray Park).<\/p>\n

Buffy the Last Vampire Slayer comic scribe and Eisner award winner Casey Gilly has envisioned \u201ca deeper evil\u201d now lurking in the town for this comic book sequel. Savanna Mayer, making their comics debut, is the artist bringing the story of\u00a0Return to Sleepy Hollow to life.<\/p>\n

\u201cIchabod has now built a name for himself as a debunker of occult claims across the world. He receives a frantic letter urging him back to Sleepy Hollow to investigate a string of unexplainable murders. This reunites him with his now-estranged love, Katrina. \u2018Together, they will uncover the truth of Sleepy Hollow\u2019s origins and the roots that connect them all,’\u201d EW details.<\/p>\n
