\n The NHS recommends ordering prescriptions up to ten working days in advance and stocking up on over-the-counter medications for common seasonal ailments.\n<\/p>\n
\n Some community pharmacies will be open on the public holiday, offering expert advice and treatment for various illnesses and ailments.\n<\/p>\n
\n While Galashiels Health Centre’s public dental services will be closed, Hawick Dental Centre and Coldstream Dental Centre will be open for emergencies.\n<\/p>\n
\n Emergency dental care can be accessed by calling 0300 7900 710 from 8am to 6pm and NHS 24 on 111 out of hours.\n<\/p>\n
\n The NHS Inform website offers self-help guides for a wide range of ailments and information about services available to meet individual needs.\n<\/p>\n
\n The emergency department is reserved for critical, life-threatening situations such as suspected heart attacks, strokes, and excessive bleeding.\n<\/p>\n
\n For non-critical situations, NHS 24 can be reached on 111, day or night.\n<\/p>\n
\n If attending the emergency department without a critical emergency, patients will be redirected to appropriate community care or advised on self-management at home.\n<\/p>\n
\n This measure helps manage resources effectively and ensures immediate attention for those in critical need.\n<\/p>\n
