As the artist switched to Dhoni\u2019s familiar voice, Rohit burst into laughter, turning back toward Ritika, who herself reacted with a mix of amusement and disbelief. The light-hearted moment came on a night when Rohit also reflected on a far more serious journey – that of India\u2019s rise from the heartbreak of the 2023 ODI World Cup final to winning back-to-back ICC titles in 2024 and 2025. Speaking at the same event, the 38-year-old credited the team\u2019s transformation to former head coach Rahul Dravid and the squad\u2019s collective belief. \u201cLook, I love that team, loved playing with them and it’s a journey that we were all into for many years,\u201d Rohit said. \u201cWe’d come so close to winning that trophy many times but we couldn\u2019t just get over the line. Now having handed over India\u2019s ODI and Test captaincy to Shubman Gill, Rohit remains part of the national setup and will travel with Virat Kohli for the upcoming ODI series in Australia starting October 19.
