Remco Evenepoel got 270 points after his European Championships time trial victory and the second place he got in the road race. He has 4.118 points now, which are not enough to overtake Joao Almeida, although the Portuguese is just around 200 points ahead.<\/p>\n

Almeida had a disappointing performance at the Europeans and has already put an end to his season, meaning Evenepoel still has a chance to pass him. However, he is defending 640 points he got in Lombardia last year, and winning would award him 800 points, which would not be enough to steal fifth place. He should have to add some races to his calendar, but that looks very unlikely, as the season is almost over and Lombardia is the last important test.<\/p>\n

Arnaud de Lie narrowly missed on the win at the Sparkassen M\u00fcnsterland Giro, but the 125 points he got there helped him to overtake Wout van Aert and is now sitting in 11th place with 2.966 points, less than 200 points away from Oscar Onley, who closes the top 10.<\/p>\n

Other riders participating in the European Championships also gained some positions in the ranking. Christian Scaroni, Juan Ayuso and Mattias Skjelmose are all now inside the top 20, after finishing fourth, sixth and seventh respectively.<\/p>\n

But the biggest jump has been made by Paul Seixas<\/a>. The French wonder kid impressed everyone with a third place, just behind Pogacar and Evenepoel, which gave him 150 UCI points and a boost of 28 spots. He made it to the top 100 for the first time, sitting in 91st place. He is set to ride Il Lombardia as well, so a good result there would make him rise in the ranking even more.<\/p>\n

The two Britons Adam Yates and Ben Tulett also went up many spots in the ranking. In the case of Yates, he found victory at Coppa Agostoni – Giro delle Brianze in a kind of unexpected way, after a mechanical made Carlos Canal lose all his options. Regarding Tulett, a decent sixth place at the Giro dell’ Emilia was enough to help him climb 15 positions, making it to the top 100 again.<\/p>\n

Finally, the rider inside the top 100 losing the most spots was Tim Merlier. The Belgian won the European Championships in 2024 in what was an essentially flat edition, but he didn’t participate this year for obvious reasons, and he lost 250 points and 10 positions, falling outisde of the top 30.<\/p>\n
