David Benavidez<\/a> has weighed in on the debate surrounding legendary American duo Floyd Mayweather and Terence Crawford.<\/p>\n

Michigan-native Mayweather, who captured world titles across five weight classes during his glittering professional career, is widely considered to be one of the greatest defensive fighters to have ever laced up a pair of gloves, racking up victories over the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao along his way to a 50-0 record.<\/p>\n

As for \u2018Bud\u2019 Crawford, the 38-year-old from Omaha wrote his name into the boxing history books once again last month as he defeated Mexican great Canelo<\/a> to become the first male fighter in the modern era to win an undisputed championship in three weight classes.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Fight Hub TV<\/a>, \u2018El Monstruo\u2019 Benavidez admitted that whilst he believes Mayweather and Crawford are both great fighters \u2018in their own way\u2019, he says there could be an argument there to rank \u2018Bud\u2019 even higher than his countryman based on his achievements.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, they\u2019re both great fighters, they\u2019re just different fighters in their own way, I can\u2019t say one is better than the other one, they\u2019re both great fighters.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think honestly if you go to see what has been accomplished, and I\u2019m gonna get a lot of s**t for this too but honestly there could be a way you put Crawford over Mayweather, because you didn\u2019t see Mayweather go up from 147 to 168, that\u2019s crazy bro.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crawford has previously captured the undisputed world championship at super-lightweight and welterweight respectively, as well as capturing world titles in five separate divisions.<\/p>\n
