Man United are already putting plans in place to bolster their squad ahead of the January transfer window after a mixed start to the season.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim\u2019s side won 2-0 against Sunderland<\/a> last time out, lifting them up to tenth in the league table with three wins, one draw and three defeats from seven games.<\/p>\n

Sir Jim Ratcliffe remains determined to back Amorim<\/a>\u00a0despite consistent calls for his head, and has revealed he could be given as long as three years to turn things around.<\/p>\n

As a result, the owner is set to back him financially when the mid-season transfer window opens to strengthen his squad and chances of a more positive Premier League finish.<\/p>\n

Man United<\/a> have now set their sights on a wantaway Real Madrid<\/a> star who could improve their midfield options considerably in January.<\/p>\n

Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga<\/a> has emerged as a target for Man United, with the France international struggling for game time under Xabi Alonso<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Having played just 76 minutes of football so far this season, the midfielder could seek a move away when the January window opens, with the Premier League a potential destination.<\/p>\n

That is according to former Man United chief scout Mick Brown<\/a>, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade during their most successful period, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 22-year-old has been a long-term target for United.<\/p>\n

\u201cMan United have admired Camavinga for a while,\u201d he told Football Insider.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen he was playing in France, he was one of the world\u2019s top talents, he earned that move to Real Madrid and I think he\u2019s improved since he went there.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeeing he\u2019s not been in the team much recently, you have to question it because he is a very talented player and one who would do a job for a lot of clubs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think if the opportunity to move to the Premier League came up, it could be something he looks to explore, and Man United could take advantage of that.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey want improvements in midfield and he\u2019s a very good option, I\u2019m not so sure how well he would fit into Amorim\u2019s system, but that\u2019s for them to decide.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s somebody they know a lot about and one I\u2019m sure they will be aware of if he becomes available, so it wouldn\u2019t surprise me if they made a move for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, they are not expected to be alone in their pursuit, as Brown told Football Insider last month that Newcastle are interested in Camavinga<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim preparing for busy January transfer window<\/p>\n

Man United\u2019s links with a move for Camavinga come as\u00a0Football Insider revealed last month that Ruben Amorim aims to strengthen his midfield<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Amorim is said to be \u201cdesperate\u201d to sign a defensive midfielder in the mid-season window after the position was identified as an area of weakness in his squad.<\/p>\n

The boss is currently utilising a duo of Bruno Fernandes<\/a> and Casemiro<\/a> in the centre, but feels it is an area that can be improved upon when the transfer window reopens.<\/p>\n

Man United missed out on signing Carlos Baleba from Brighton<\/a> during the summer, while they also considered moves for Adam Wharton<\/a> and Morten Hjulmand<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, with their sights set on a number of big-name targets across European football, they are growing more confident of strengthening in a key position.<\/p>\n
