Lawyer questions Priya Sachdev\u2019s share of assets<\/p>\n

As reported by News18, Jethmalani asked the court, \u201cWho is really greedy? She has already got 60% of the assets, around 12% to her own son, and 75% of the trust. She was in such a hurry, she even started writing letters about Benami forms, which are used to decide beneficiaries of companies.\u201dHe alleged that Priya\u2019s \u201cglaring hurry\u201d was an attempt to cut down the rightful share of Sunjay Kapur\u2019s children from his previous marriage to actor Karisma Kapoor.<\/p>\n

Questions raised over Sunjay Kapur\u2019s alleged will<\/p>\n

The advocate also raised doubts about the validity of Sunjay Kapur\u2019s will, which lies at the centre of the dispute. Jethmalani told the court, \u201cIt is not possible that Sunjay Kapur would not have consulted an advocate before creating a will and bequeathing such a large estate.\u201dWhen the court asked whether the will was typed, Jethmalani confirmed it was and pointed out several \u201cloopholes and infirmities\u201d in the document, suggesting the will lacked proper legal preparation.<\/p>\n

Lawyer claims process lacked transparency<\/p>\n

Jethmalani continued, \u201cThis is not a normal case. There\u2019s no reason why the executor wasn\u2019t informed or why a lawyer wasn\u2019t consulted. A genuine will by a well-positioned man in society does not suffer from loopholes and infirmities.\u201d He suggested that the way the will was handled showed clear signs of irregularities and that something might have been altered without proper consultation.<\/p>\n

Alleged will changes raise further suspicion<\/p>\n

Adding to the courtroom tension, Jethmalani claimed that the will was changed while Sunjay Kapur was on holiday with his son. He also alleged that the person who made those changes became a director in one of the companies just a day after Sunjay\u2019s funeral, raising questions about the timing and intent behind these actions.<\/p>\n

Lawyer warns against alleged forgery of will<\/p>\n

Jethmalani reminded the court that forging a will is a serious offence punishable by life imprisonment. He said, \u201cThis is a case where the entire justice system is being taken for a joke.\u201d<\/p>\n

The legal battle revolves around Sunjay Kapur\u2019s inheritance, one of the biggest and most talked-about family disputes in recent years. Karisma Kapoor\u2019s children, Samaira and Kiaan, have filed a case in the Delhi High Court seeking what they believe is their fair share of their late father\u2019s personal estate which is estimated at around Rs 30,000 crore. Earler, a source close to Karisma was quoted saying that she wants nothing and is not interested in Kapur’s property but is only concerned about her children. <\/p>\n
