Former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr appears to be on the verge of making his long-awaited comeback to the sport after over two years away from the ring.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old from Long Island, New York has not fought since he suffered the first defeat of his professional career to countryman Terence Crawford in July of 2023<\/a>, surrendering his unified WBC, WBA and IBF welterweight titles in the process.<\/p>\n

Spence had been expected to make his return to the ring during the earlier stages of this year, although a discussed clash with reigning WBC super-welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora fell at the final hurdle.<\/p>\n

Reports now suggest that the 35-year-old could be in line to face two-weight world champion Jermell Charlo next.<\/a><\/p>\n

Whether or not those talks come to anything remains to be seen, however \u2018The Truth\u2019 is now back in the gym and and appears to be in good shape, recently posting a video of himself hitting the pads.<\/a><\/p>\n

One commenter said, \u201cGlad to see my boy back focusing on his craft. One loss doesn\u2019t define your career, keep grinding!\u201d Another praised Spence\u2019s physique: \u201cMy Guy back in shape and very serious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlo has also been absent for two years, not competing since his loss to Canelo Alvarez in September of 2023.
