{"id":1937,"date":"2025-07-15T11:21:04","date_gmt":"2025-07-15T11:21:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/1937\/"},"modified":"2025-07-15T11:21:04","modified_gmt":"2025-07-15T11:21:04","slug":"virgin-media-down-again-after-customers-complained-about-total-blackout-news-tech","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/1937\/","title":{"rendered":"Virgin Media down again after customers complained about &#8216;total blackout&#8217; | News Tech"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SEI_128202611-762e.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-23658490\" alt=\"Virgin Media logo sign in Northampton town centre\" decoding=\"sync\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tCustomers said they were unable to get online this morning (Picture: Shutterstick)<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of people reported that <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/virgin-media\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Virgin<\/a><a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/virgin-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> Media<\/a>\u00a0went down again this morning, a day after widespreaad outages.<\/p>\n<p>Over a thousand reports of problems were made on Tuesday morning, according to internet disruption tracker\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/downdetector.co.uk\/status\/virgin-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Downdetector<\/a>, with problems spiking around 7am and resolved after 9am. <\/p>\n<p>It comes after customers also faced issues yesterday, with the company apologising for the inconvience.<\/p>\n<p>It was resolved by the evening, but this morning people were again sending messages to Virgin\u2019s customer services team saying they had \u2018no internet, no TV\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Another wrote: \u2018No internet service this morning. Any update on outage in UB5? I\u2019m supposed to be working from home.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"268\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SEI_259069162-4e6a.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-23665589\" alt=\"Virgin Media outages reported in the last 24 hours\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tReports of problems spiked again around 7am today (Picture: Downdetector)<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, some said that the issue appeared right as they were trying to watch day five of the England vs India cricket test match, and could not access <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/sky-sports\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sky Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When the outage was ongoing yesterday, David Patterson wrote on <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/twitter\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">X<\/a>: \u2018I can\u2019t log onto SkySports. It seems to go wrong during the login to VirginMedia from the SkySports Site. I can\u2019t believe I\u2019m missing the end of the Test Match!! Help!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>One user shared screenshots showing they were first told \u2018Apologies, we can\u2019t load the page at the moment\u2019, and then: \u2018Our systems are currently down for maintenance, you can try again after 7am.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Others queried whether the problem could be related to a new verification system for log-ins.<\/p>\n<p>One man wrote: \u2018It looks like your new authentication service \u2013 which only started today \u2013 is either struggling with volumes of registration or not able to send SMS. Please do pass to your support team.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Virgin Media email issues<\/p>\n<p>Downdetector reports were split between people saying internet was affected, email, or a \u2018total blackout\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>One user wrote on X: \u2018Still unable to access my account for emails, now over 24 hours\u2026.any update on a fix please.\u2019<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">sorry to hear of the issues experienced accessing some of your accounts. We&#8217;ve reached out to our team and been advised there is a known issue the team are working on although there is currently no estimated fix time for this.
