Floyd Mayweather<\/a>\u2018s accomplishments have led to him being known as one of the greatest boxers of all time.<\/p>\n

Mayweather competed professionally from 1996 to 2017<\/a>, becoming a five-weight world champion in the process, after claiming gold at super-featherweight, lightweight, super-lightweight, welterweight and super-welterweight.<\/p>\n

He retired with a perfect 50-0 record, beating a number of iconic fighters along the way, including Manny Pacquiao, Canelo Alvarez, Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez and Miguel Cotto.<\/p>\n

Another boxing great that he defeated was Oscar De La Hoya<\/a> back in May 2007, winning the WBC light middleweight title in the process.<\/p>\n

While De La Hoya may have come up short against Mayweather, the six-weight world champion has named a fellow legend who he feels would have beat his former rival.<\/p>\n

Speaking to MailSport Boxing<\/a>, De La Hoya was asked to predict who would come out on top between Mayweather and Sugar Ray Leonard<\/a>, and didn\u2019t hesitate to give his answer.<\/p>\n

\u201cSugar Ray Leonard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leonard was a five-weight world champion from welterweight to light heavyweight, and was a member of the iconic Four Kings alongside Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran and Thomas Hearns.<\/p>\n

The four men competed against one another on various occasions, with Leonard the only one to defeat the three other members. His final record stood at 36 wins, 3 defeats and 1 draw, and also defeated Mayweather\u2019s father Floyd Sr by 10th round stoppage in September 1978.<\/p>\n
