{"id":194466,"date":"2025-10-12T07:39:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-12T07:39:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/194466\/"},"modified":"2025-10-12T07:39:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-12T07:39:07","slug":"strike-action-by-nhs-hospital-staff-reaches-200-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/194466\/","title":{"rendered":"Strike action by NHS hospital staff reaches 200 days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A strike among specialist health workers is now the longest in NHS history as a group of phlebotomists have reached their 200th day of industrial action.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Trade union Unison, which represents Gloucestershire phlebotomists, said they are not paid enough for the &#8220;skilled work they do&#8221; taking and handling blood samples.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Caroline Hayhurst, one of 37 striking phlebotomists, went to a meeting with Gloucestershire NHS Trust on Friday and said it provided &#8220;hope&#8221; a resolution can be found. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The trust has been approached for comment.
