Alex Sanderson was delighted after Sale<\/a> bounced back from last week\u2019s defeat at Bath<\/a> to claim a thumping 57-5 home win over Newcastle<\/a> and condemn their northern rivals to a third straight loss.<\/p>\n

Sanderson\u2019s Sharks<\/a> scored five first-half tries to establish firm control against a Red Bulls<\/a> side who have won just two league matches in the past two seasons.<\/p>\n

Newcastle hit back with their first try of the second half, but Sale underlined their superiority with four more tries to claim their second successive bonus-point home win.<\/p>\n

Director of rugby Sanderson, whose side scored tries from Rob du Preez, Tom Roebuck<\/a> and Luke Cowan-Dickie<\/a> inside the opening quarter, could not fault the overall performance.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cIt was a really good start \u2013 high tempo \u2013 and I was really happy with our attacking intent.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving got stuck in the mire of last week, we wanted the ball in our hands and we wanted to attack.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor 50 minutes, I thought we were good for it in that respect.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut then you speak to Fordy (fly-half George Ford) after the game and he was like \u2018that was frustrating at times\u2019 and it brings you back down.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd rightly so because there were still inaccuracies in the game which frustrated us in the 20 minutes after half-time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Captain Ernst van Rhyn<\/a> and winger Arron Reed<\/a> also scored before half-time to make it 31-0 at the break.<\/p>\n

Newcastle replied early in the second half through Elliott Obatoyinbo\u2019s well-taken score, but Sale gradually reasserted their superiority.<\/p>\n

Roebuck scored twice more to complete his hat-trick, Reed claimed his second and replacement hooker Nathan Jibulu<\/a> touched down for the third successive Gallagher Prem Rugby game.<\/p>\n

Sanderson said of England<\/a> wing Roebuck: \u201cTom has been training with a sprint coach down at Loughborough and that\u2019s not just him \u2013 a few of the squad go down.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt looked like it showed with how he stepped in off the right foot coming infield.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think he\u2019d hit his straps so far this season so there were conversations with him this week about him actually stepping up.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe trained really well and goes and performs like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was a hugely disappointing night for Newcastle as they slumped to another heavy defeat.<\/p>\n

Red Bulls head coach Alan Dickens cut a frustrated figure as he reflected: \u201cWe spoke at half-time in the changing room about how we gave Sale a lot of opportunities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had talked about it in the week and that was disappointing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe said at half-time that we needed to stick together and for a long period in the second half I thought we did \u2013 probably until about the 72nd minute.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen they scored three quick tries and absolutely ran away with it.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I would never question the desire of the players.
