Sergio Garcia looks set to lose his DP World Tour membership as he is not pencilled in to compete in the final two regular events of the season in India and Korea.<\/p>\n
Europe\u2019s record Ryder Cup points scorer resigned his membership in May 2023 upon his decision to join LIV Golf but paid fines of approximately $1m last year to rejoin the DP World Tour in a last ditch bid to make Luke Donald\u2019s European team.<\/p>\n
The Spaniard was unsuccessful, and subsequently withdrew from the Amgen Irish Open.<\/p>\n
The 2017 Masters champion has played in just two regular DP World Tour events this season at the BMW International Open in July and last week\u2019s Spanish Open.<\/p>\n
The minimum requirement for an automatic membership renewal is four, which Garcia now looks likely not to fulfil which would cause his membership to lapse.<\/p>\n
As it stands, Garcia would also not be eligible to compete in the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor so he is staring a third straight absence in the face.<\/p>\n
Garcia\u2019s compatriot, Jon Rahm has often vouched for his inclusion in the side whether it be as a player or part of the backroom staff while he has also labelled him as the obvious choice to be the 2031 captain in Spain.<\/p>\n
