The X300 series is now official in China, and there’s no clear commitment on vivo’s part to make the phones global. There’s some hope, though, as OriginOS 6, which made its Chinese debut last week, is expected to go global in a few days.<\/p>\n
Last year, we had a global X200 Pro, making a global X300 Pro logical, at the very least. We’ll have to wait and see.<\/p>\n
But having had some time with the vivo X300 and X300 Pro, we can say we like them. They feel better in the hand than their predecessors and feel more complete as a series. That’s mainly due to their sizes, which cover just about anyone who doesn’t want a foldable.<\/p>\n

The change-up in build is welcome. A glossy and overly curved phone feels outdated in this world of flat, matte, slab phones we live in. Usher in the flatter, matter vivo X300 Pro with vivo’s excellent cameras and software, and you’ve got yourself a better phone than the X200 Pro. We would’ve liked to see a camera control button, like the one on the X200 Ultra, but vivo seemingly doesn’t want to upset that apple cart.<\/p>\n
The bigger vivo X300 Pro comes in a more subdued selection of colors, but the Brown easily stands out in the market. The vivo X300 Pro is priced at CNY 5,299 ($745) for the 12\/256GB variant and CNY 5,999 ($845) for the 16\/512GB option. Meanwhile, the 16GB\/1TB model will cost CNY 6,699 ($945)<\/p>\n

The vivo X300 is the latest entry in a series of great compact vivo phones, joining the X200 FE and X200 Pro mini. Whether the new X300 will be a success is a question only time will answer. Those other small phones aren’t the hit the X200 Pro and Ultra are.<\/p>\n
