Several of the new faces brought in have started to leave a mark on the side, which is exactly what every Tottenham fan and the manager would have hoped for.<\/p>\n
However, these recent additions have not entirely worked out for some of the older stars, with Brennan Johnson<\/a> now seeing a reduced role under Frank.<\/p>\n Johnson was Spurs\u2019 main man last term, as his famous toe poke against Manchester United in the Europa League final<\/a> saw Tottenham end their 17-year trophyless run.<\/p>\n The Welshman was not just a goalscoring threat in Europe but was relentless across competitions, racking up 25 goal involvements in over fifty games for Spurs.<\/p>\n \u201cJohnson Ole Ole Ole\u201d continues to echo across the stadium, and rightfully so, given the significance of the Wales international\u2019s strike last season. <\/p>\n Yet for a player who seemed nailed on under Ange Postecoglou<\/a>, Brennan Johnson now looks to have fallen down the pecking order.<\/p>\n Spurs have brought in Mohammed Kudus<\/a> and Xavi Simons<\/a>, and with Johnson doing most of his damage off the right last term, he has had to be pushed to the left, with Kudus now nailing down that right-wing spot.<\/p>\n Kudus has been labelled the \u201cmain man\u201d for Tottenham by Jermain Defoe<\/a>, and with the Ghana international delivering top displays, it is difficult to see how Johnson reclaims the right flank.<\/p>\n Frank<\/a>, however, has offered Johnson the opportunity to audition off the left, but the Welshman has failed to impress, with Wilson Odobert<\/a> featuring more in that role in recent weeks.<\/p>\n Why Spurs need to cash in on Brennan Johnson<\/p>\n The competition for places will only increase when the likes of James Maddison<\/a> and Dejan Kulusevski<\/a> return, which could make it even harder for Johnson to get consistent minutes.<\/p>\n Johnson, of course, would want to play regularly, but with the way things stand at Tottenham, it seems unlikely that he will enjoy as many minutes as he did under Postecoglou last season.<\/p>\n Indeed, injuries could change that and give him more opportunities, but for a player who hit 25 goal contributions last season, he could already be considering his future.<\/p>\n Spurs fans continue to call for an upgrade on the left<\/a>, and should Tottenham land a top winger, that would only spell more danger for the Welshman.<\/p>\n![\"Brennan](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/brennan-johnson-1g-1024x682.jpg\")
