{"id":198784,"date":"2025-10-14T06:26:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T06:26:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/198784\/"},"modified":"2025-10-14T06:26:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T06:26:08","slug":"former-bok-front-rowers-to-meet-in-boxing-ring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/198784\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Bok front-rowers to meet in boxing ring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"243\" data-end=\"413\">James \u201cBullet\u201d Dalton and Ollie le Roux will square off in a charity boxing match in Bloemfontein on Thursday night.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"415\" data-end=\"717\">The former Bok front rowers \u2013 once roommates on tour \u2013 will face each other during President Steyn High School\u2019s Boere October Festival Week, with proceeds going to the school.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"1087\">Dalton, who played for the Lions and shared Bok dressing rooms with the Cheetahs\u2019 Le Roux, couldn\u2019t resist stoking the pre-fight fire.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"1087\">\u201cI hope Ollie doesn\u2019t hide in the long grass like a cheetah while the lions are out hunting,\u201d Dalton told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netwerk24.com\/nuus\/mense\/bok-vs-bok-ollie-beter-nie-soos-n-cheetah-wegkruip-se-bullet-20251011-1124\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Rapport.<\/a> \u201cI know a cheetah can run fast, but I bet you didn\u2019t know how a lion could run. I\u2019m looking forward to the challenge in Bloem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"1087\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-245559 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/James-Dalton-boxing-775x1024.jpg\" alt=\"James Dalton boxing\" width=\"600\" height=\"793\"  \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1089\" data-end=\"1429\">Le Roux began training 12 weeks ago and says he\u2019s ready for a serious test.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1089\" data-end=\"1429\">\u201cI started by training once a week, but now I train four times a week,\u201d he said. \u201cI initially did three sets of 10 sit-ups, but now I do three sets of 100. It\u2019s nice to be training again and I have a fair challenge ahead of me. James is a formidable opponent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1431\" data-end=\"1730\">While the bout is in good spirit, Le Roux made it clear this is no exhibition.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1431\" data-end=\"1730\">\u201cIt\u2019s really just a game of chess \u2013 a guy has to have patterns,\u201d he explained. \u201cWe have a plan to beat James and how to get me out of trouble if I find myself in that situation. It\u2019s going to be a good boxing fight.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1431\" data-end=\"1730\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-245557 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Ollie-le-Roux-976x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Ollie le Roux boxing\" width=\"600\" height=\"630\"  \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1999\" data-end=\"2269\">\u201cWe\u2019ll go in and beat each other up. It\u2019s not about winning, it\u2019s about the entertainment. We\u2019re old legends, but we\u2019re not forgotten, and it\u2019s going to be fun to fight each other and live out our Springbok values.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2271\" data-end=\"2383\">\u201cJames asked for six rounds.
