{"id":198996,"date":"2025-10-14T08:36:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T08:36:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/198996\/"},"modified":"2025-10-14T08:36:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T08:36:10","slug":"transport-for-london-criticised-for-lax-nuisance-noise-enforcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/198996\/","title":{"rendered":"Transport for London criticised for lax nuisance noise enforcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">In April, the Liberal Democrat national party went one step further and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cly5g7v2qddo\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">called for fines of up to \u00a31,000 for travellers<\/a> who play loud music and videos on public transport across England.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Reform UK Assembly Member Alex Wilson told the LDRS: &#8220;TfL and Sadiq Khan clearly know this is a significant issue, but are doing next to nothing to solve it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Their dire record of enforcement leaves me with no faith at all that their recent campaign encouraging passengers to wear headphones is anything but a request to trouble makers, with no meaningful action to back it up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He added the number of prosecutions points to a &#8220;pattern of lawlessness&#8221; across TfL&#8217;s network.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A TfL spokesperson told the LDRS: &#8220;The vast majority of our customers are considerate towards their fellow passengers and use headphones when streaming content or making calls on our services.
