Casper Ruud has enjoyed a relatively successful season, with the Norwegian player claiming a Masters 1000 event in 2025. <\/p>\n

Ruud is still in the running for a place in the ATP Finals<\/a> this year, although he will need things to fall into place for him to oust one of the current contenders vying for a spot. <\/p>\n

Ruud retired against Zizou Bergs<\/a> at last week\u2019s Shanghai Masters<\/a>, but he will be back on the court in Stockholm as the indoor swing gets underway this week. <\/p>\n

Ruud impressed at the Laver Cup<\/a> as Team Europe lost to a Team World side inspired by some brilliant form from Taylor Fritz<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Ruud is a popular player on the ATP Tour<\/a>, and he\u2019s now the latest player to weigh in on the discussion over the schedule in its current format. <\/p>\n

Ruud<\/a> has played a lot of tennis in 2026, playing in three of the four Grand Slams and all of the Masters 1000 events, with the Paris Masters<\/a> still to come. <\/p>\n

As a result, it would appear as though the Norwegian is setting his sights on some tweaks in 2026. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s confessed that he\u2019s perhaps made a mistake with his schedule this year and conceded that changes could be made next year. <\/p>\n

He told BolaVIP<\/a>: \u201cTo have a mandatory event like Paris that late in the season makes the season really, really long.\u00a0It\u2019s the same for everyone, but going forward, I will plan the schedule a bit differently, maybe skipping a few events here and there.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a very hectic 3\u20134 years since I reached the top 10. I played a lot of events, and I played some exhibitions in the preseason, so those are some choices that I have made,\u00a0which I look back on and think I shouldn\u2019t have done. For the future, that is something I will take into consideration.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ruud will hope to improve Grand Slam fortunes in 2026<\/p>\n

For a player who has been in three Grand Slam finals to lose in the second round of every Grand Slam he played in 2025 is really poor. <\/p>\n

As a result, it\u2019s easy to see what Ruud will want to improve next year when the tour gets back into the swing of things in Australia. <\/p>\n

At 26, Ruud has time on his side, and as the world number 12, he will once again be hoping to finish this year with a flourish and get himself on the cusp of the top 10 once again. <\/p>\n
