Mark Ronson shared that he recently performed at Selena Gomez’s wedding and is now keeping his calendar clear in case Taylor Swift wants him to DJ her big day\"MarkMark Ronson puts his entire year on hold for possible favour from Taylor Swift<\/p>\n

Mark Ronson<\/a> has revealed that he recently DJ\u2019d at Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco\u2019s wedding and joked that he\u2019s keeping his year free in case Taylor Swift<\/a> asks him to do the same for hers.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Scott Mills<\/a> on BBC<\/a> Radio 2\u2019s Breakfast Show, the music producer opened up about his friendship with Blanco, his famous stepfather Mick Jones, and some behind-the-scenes secrets from his career.<\/p>\n

Ronson told Mills that his stepdad, Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones, wrote the iconic love song I Want to Know What Love Is for his mother. \u201cThat song is actually about my mum,\u201d he said, adding that it\u2019s surreal to have such a legendary ballad tied to his family\u2019s story.<\/p>\n

The Uptown Funk hitmaker also laughed as he debunked one of MTV\u2019s biggest illusions – the celebrity homes featured on MTV Cribs. \u201cMost of those houses weren\u2019t real,\u201d he admitted. \u201cPeople would rent or borrow fancy places to look rich. The only real house was mine and it was tiny.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ronson said he feels grateful that Uptown Funk has become such a popular wedding song. \u201cI love that people still dance to it, especially at weddings. It\u2019s kind of wild that it\u2019s turned into that kind of classic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

During the chat, Mills brought up Foreigner\u2019s recent public offer to play at Taylor Swift\u2019s wedding, prompting Ronson to reveal he\u2019s keeping his schedule open just in case.<\/p>\n

Scott asked: \u201cHey, I saw that Foreigner have offered to play Taylor Swift\u2019s wedding. Have you seen that?\u201d To which Mark replied: \u201cYeah, I saw that too.”<\/p>\n

Scott continued: \u201cI wonder if she\u2019s said anything yet.\u201d Before Mark laughed and said: \u201cI think there\u2019s a lot of people putting themselves up for that gig. Me – I\u2019m keeping the year open as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scott joked: \u201cYou never know.\u201d To which Mark agreed: \u201cExactly. You don\u2019t know who\u2019s going to get the call. I did DJ a wedding that apparently she was at a week ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scott then sounded surprised, as he asked: \u201cA week ago?\u201d To which Mark replied: \u201cYeah. I didn\u2019t see her on the dancefloor, so I probably didn\u2019t do the best job of selling my services there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scott then asked: \u201cWas this the Selena Gomez<\/a> wedding?\u201d Before Mark confirmed: \u201cIt was. This was that.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to share how he got the gig. \u201cI\u2019ve known Benny for ten years,\u201d he explained. \u201cWhen he got engaged, he said, \u2018Will you come and do like a \u201990s DJ set at my wedding?\u2019 and I was like, sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the chat wrapped up, Mills teased that Taylor Swift should book Ronson for her own big day. Mark laughed, adding, \u201cYou could also get a good deal – maybe a Foreigner-Mark Ronson wedding package.\u201d<\/p>\n
