PlayStation\u2019s Sucker Punch<\/a> recently released its newest video game, Ghost of Yotei. As the studio looks forward to the future, it has confirmed that it will stay a single-project developer and fans should not expect it to work on multiple projects at one time. However, the reasoning behind this decision may give long-time PlayStation fans some hope that one of the developer\u2019s most beloved franchises<\/a> could make a comeback.<\/p>\n

Sucker Punch\u2019s next game could see the return of its fan-favorite mascot<\/p>\n

In an interview with VGC<\/a>, Sucker Punch co-founder and studio head Brian Fleming gave some insight as to why the studio will remain committed to only working on one project at a time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe truth is that whatever we do next, whether it\u2019s continuing Ghost or going back to Sly, the decision is really more limited by, again, our cherishing of focus and time to iterate, which means that we really can only do one thing at a time,\u201d Fleming said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we were good at juggling four projects, yeah, we\u2019d have a remaster, and let\u2019s go do one of those, and one of those, and do some fan request, that would be really popular . . . But we only get to do one thing.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it kind of has to be your best idea, right? And that\u2019s really clarifying. It\u2019s not like there aren\u2019t 15 good ideas. But you only get to do one. And by the way, you only get to do one about every five years. So that choice is really important. I mean, that is choosing your college and your major every five years.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is definitely not confirmation that Sucker Punch\u2019s next game will be Sly Cooper. However, the mention of the franchise might be promising for fans, especially as Fleming doesn\u2019t completely shut the idea of a new entry down. Until Sly makes a return, PS4 and PS5 players can check out the older entries with their recently released ports<\/a>.<\/p>\n
