DP World Tour star Angel Ayora has declared a fighting ambition to earn a PGA Tour card for next season – despite rumours linking him with a move to join LIV Golf in 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ayora, who has just turned 21 years old, recorded a fourth top-10 finish in his last six starts on the DP World Tour<\/a> following a T9 on home soil at the Open de Espana.<\/p>\n The Spanish rookie is being tipped for a huge career in the sport, and he has rightly caught the attention of those on the Saudi bankrolled LIV Golf League<\/a> for a move next season.<\/p>\n But when pressed for comment on recent LIV Golf speculation following his latest performance, Ayora admitted he was fully focused on locking up one of the 10 PGA Tour<\/a> cards on offer for unexempt DP World Tour players next month.\u00a0<\/p>\n Related:<\/p>\n Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n Ayora’s seventh top-10 finish of the season on Sunday nudges him up four spots to 23rd in the DP World Tour Rankings<\/a>, and to within some 460 points of the final PGA Tour card, currently held by France’s Martin Couvra.\u00a0<\/p>\n He’s also now up to a career-best world ranking of 146th.\u00a0<\/p>\n With four more events of the DP World Tour season remaining, including next month’s season-ending Playoffs, Ayora is ready to keep his foot on the gas in order to achieve his PGA Tour dream.\u00a0<\/p>\n “I’m very proud to have been able to play like this,” Ayora told a pool of Spanish reporters including Marca<\/a> at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, Madrid.\u00a0<\/p>\n “Now I’m going to keep fighting for one of those 10 spots that give me a ticket to the PGA Tour.\u00a0<\/p>\n Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n “If I get it, of course I’ll go play there, even if it means swimming.”<\/p>\n Related:<\/p>\n Ayora then took to his Instagram to thank the home fans for coming out to support him on his national Open debut.\u00a0<\/p>\n “Thank you Madrid,” wrote Ayora, in a message we have translated into English.\u00a0<\/p>\n “Playing the Spanish Open at home has been an unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n “Feeling the support of so many people throughout the week has given me a special energy.<\/p>\n “Thanks to everyone who came, to the organizers, and to everyone who makes it possible for this tournament to continue growing every year.<\/p>\n “Team, I think we’re on the right track.
