The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has maintained its forecast for Ukraine\u2019s real GDP growth at 2.0% in 2025 and 4.5% in 2026, in line with its April projections.<\/p>\n
This is stated in the IMF\u2019s updated World Economic Outlook (WEO) report, presented in Washington on Tuesday by IMF Chief Economist Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.<\/p>\n
According to the section on European economies, Ukraine\u2019s real GDP growth is projected to reach 2.0% in 2025 and 4.5% in 2026, repeating the figures from the April WEO, except that the Fund has revised down Ukraine\u2019s 2024 GDP from 3.5% to 2.9%.<\/p>\n
The consumer price index forecast for Ukraine remains largely unchanged \u2014 12.6% this year and 7.6% next year (the April report projected 7.7% for 2026).<\/p>\n
At the same time, the current account balance outlook has worsened noticeably \u2014 now expected at -16.5% of GDP in 2025 and -12.6% in 2025, compared with -15.9% and -10.6% in the previous projections.<\/p>\n
The IMF also forecasts a slight uptick in unemployment, from 11.5% to 11.6% this year, before easing to 10.2% in 2026.<\/p>\n
