Rose Ayling-Ellis<\/a> has become the latest star to brand Bali as ‘overrated’ after Molly Mae’s sister caused a stir earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The former EastEnders<\/a> actress, 30, has revealed she was stunned by the sheer amount of rubbish<\/a> at the holiday hotspot when she visited.<\/p>\n

Rose, who was the first ever deaf contestant to appear on Strictly in 2023, said: \u2018It\u2019s overrated.’<\/p>\n

She continued:\u00a0\u2018I went to Bali with this ideal and it was not what I expected at all.<\/p>\n

‘There was plastic and rubbish everywhere.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

She added on the Travel Secrets podcast: \u2018I just couldn\u2019t connect to the spiritual travellers out there.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

Molly-Mae’s sister Zoe previously took aim at the destination and revealed to fans she had left after just 48 hours\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Indonesian province has long been the backdrop to celebrities and influencers’ picture-perfect holiday snaps.<\/p>\n

However, Rose is not the first public figure to bash the destination, with Molly-Mae Hague’s sister Zoe previously taking aim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She told her followers in June how she upped and left less than 48 hours after jetting in because it did not live up to her expectations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Zoe had planned the trip with her husband Danny to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n

And despite staying in a huge sea view room at the Radisson Blu, a five-star hotel, they decided to leave early and jet to\u00a0Dubai<\/a> instead.<\/p>\n

Zoe explained that Bali looks better on social media than in real life, as influencers make it look luxurious, despite it being a developing country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Her honest video was mocked by fans as she declared: ‘I don’t think the reality of Bali is shown much at all, and I do think it is down to a lot of influencers posting the more luxury side of things.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

She added: ‘Before joining the army, I spent five months travelling South East Asia. I did Thailand, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, I did a lot and spent time in these countries. But there is something very different about Bali.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Zoe and Danny stayed at Atlantis The Royal, with rooms starting from around \u00a3290 per night during July, which is considered low season<\/p>\n

‘We got told Uluwatu where we are now is one of the best places to go, so if this is one of the better places, I’m not sure where the other places are like.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I wasn’t going to sit down and say anything, but people want to know.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fans were divided in the comment section, with many claiming they loved Bali and asking for specific reasons why she didn’t like it.<\/p>\n

One commented: ‘I find this really surprising seeing as you travelled this part of the world. Everywhere there is like this – the 5* resorts are social media worthy but ultimately it\u2019s a developing area of the world and lots of the people there live in poverty.’<\/p>\n

Another chimed in: ‘That is such a shame you didn\u2019t have a good experience:( Bali is a truly magical place with incredible people! But it is a poor country and I think people forget that and expect it to be like Dubai when that isn\u2019t the reality. Hope you have a good time in Dubai.’<\/p>\n

While a third penned: ‘I\u2019m interested to know what exactly you didn\u2019t like about it? You didn\u2019t really go into specifics? I travelled there last year and loved it!’<\/p>\n
