Siblings Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti have become power players in the horror field with films including Mama, IT: Chapter One and IT: Chapter Two under their belt, and they\u2019re next making their mark on television with a return to the world of Stephen King with HBO Max series \u201cIT: Welcome to Derry<\/a>,\u201d a prequel to their two IT movies.<\/p>\n

The Muschiettis were raised in Argentina, and one of their dream projects draws inspiration from that upbringing. Andy Muschietti teases the project in a new chat with Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He tells the outlet, \u201cWe\u2019re very connected culturally to Argentina because we were born and raised there. There are so many stories to tell and one in particular that I really wanted to do. But, you know, it\u2019s like, when will that happen? That\u2019s probably not now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a story of my own and set in the 1930s,\u201d Muschietti explains. \u201cIt combines the culture of tango with some supernatural presences, and there is another part that\u2019s connected to the social and political background. It\u2019s an action-horror movie and it would be black and white.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barbara Muschietti adds, \u201cRight now, Argentina is going through its own very difficult times with cinema because the current government has basically decimated the National Cinema Institute, which was basically the main provider of funds.\u201d<\/p>\n
