Jennifer Lopez revealed her twins, Max and Emme, confronted her about not being present in their lives as she navigated being a single mom following her divorce<\/a> from Marc Anthony.<\/p>\n

The \u201cOn the Floor\u201d songstress\u2019 eye-opening conversation with the now 17-year-olds occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she was able to \u201cstay home\u201d and be more present, she shared on Wednesday\u2019s episode of the \u201cHoward Stern Show.\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThey spoke to me, [and] they\u2019re like, \u2018You\u2019re not a regular mom. You\u2019re not here every day. You don\u2019t drop us off and pick us up like the other [moms],’\u201d she recalled, sharing that her kids were around the age of 10.<\/p>\n

Jennifer Lopez got candid about the conversation her twins, Max and Emme, had with her about not being present in their lives. WireImage<\/p>\n

During Wednesday\u2019s episode of the \u201cHoward Stern Show,\u201d the actress shared that the now 17-year-olds confronted her during the COVID-19 pandemic when she was able to stay home. jlo\/Instagram<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I realized how much they needed me there,\u201d Lopez, 56, added.<\/p>\n

The \u201cKiss of the Spider Woman\u201d star explained that up until that point, she had been operating on \u201chyperdrive,\u201d saying that she thought it was \u201call on [her]\u201d to care for her kids when she and Anthony split in 2011 after seven years of marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were used to me working,\u201d she continued, explaining that she had a lot of help with raising her twins from loved ones and nannies.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey spoke to me, [and] they\u2019re like, \u2018You\u2019re not a regular mom. You\u2019re not here every day. You don\u2019t drop us off and pick us up like the other [moms],’\u201d she stated. Getty Images<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I realized how much they needed me there,\u201d Lopez continued. jlo\/Instagram<\/p>\n

\u201cI think when the pandemic happened, I got to stay home, [and] I realized I need to be more home with them all the time,\u201d Lopez stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cI realized how much they needed me there. It wasn\u2019t just about me giving them a great life. It was about me being there for them all the time.\u201d <\/p>\n

The \u201cSelena\u201d star described the conversation with Emme and Max as a \u201cwakeup call,\u201d saying she\u2019s learned how to turn down certain projects and now has the \u201cbest relationship\u201d with them.<\/p>\n

Lopez is often seen out with her children \u2014 either at dinner<\/a>, Broadway shows<\/a> or on the red carpet. <\/a><\/p>\n

The hitmaker and Anthony, 57, started dating in September 2003 and tied the knot <\/a>the following June.<\/p>\n

The exes welcomed their kids in 2008 before announcing their separation <\/a>three years later via a statement to People.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was a very difficult decision,\u201d they wrote in July 2011. \u201cWe have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Anthony is rarely seen out with Max and Emme, he gave insight into their relationship during an interview with E! News<\/a> in March, saying, \u201cIf you learned anything after all these years, it\u2019s whatever they want, whatever they say.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cVivir Mi Vida\u201d crooner also gushed that he had a \u201cwonderful family.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cOn the Floor\u201d songstress shared that she believed raising the twins was all on her. Instagram\/jlo<\/p>\n

Aside from Max and Emme, Anthony is also the father to Arianna Mu\u00f1iz, 31, and Chase Mu\u00f1iz, 28, with ex Debbie Rosado, as well as Cristian Mu\u00f1iz, 24, and Ryan Mu\u00f1iz, 22, with ex Dayanara Torres.<\/p>\n

Additionally, he shares a 2-year-old son, Marco,<\/a> with his wife, Nadia Ferreirra, whom he wed in 2023.<\/p>\n
