Arthur Rinderknech had some big decisions to make after his run to the final at the Shanghai Masters.<\/p>\n

Rinderknech beat the likes of Alexander Zverev<\/a>, Daniil Medvedev<\/a> and Felix Auger-Aliassime<\/a> to reach the biggest final of his career in Shanghai.<\/p>\n

This is where he would play his cousin Valentin Vacherot, who beat Rinderknech to win the Shanghai Masters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite losing in the final, Rinderknech was still rewarded with a career-high ranking<\/a>, and he has now made a decision about his next ATP<\/a> tournament.<\/p>\n

Rinderknech was very emotional after the Shanghai Masters final<\/a>, and was also overcome by cramp which forced him to fall to the ground in the middle of the trophy ceremony.<\/p>\n

Despite achieving a breakthrough result in Shanghai, Rinderknech<\/a> was still entered into four tournaments this year.<\/p>\n

Rinderknech had already withdrawn from the European Open in Brussels midway through the Shanghai Masters<\/a>, and he has now made a decision about the Swiss Indoors event in Basel.<\/p>\n

As a result of being ranked outside the top 50 at the time of the entry list cut-off, Rinderknech was only able to get into qualifying for the ATP 500 tournament.<\/p>\n

However, after his deep run at the Shanghai Masters, Rinderknech has now made the decision to withdraw from the qualifying draw.<\/p>\n

Rinderknech still remains on the alternate list, and could still get into the main draw if four players withdraw.<\/p>\n

If he does not play the Swiss Indoors tournament, Rinderknech only has two more tournaments on his 2025 calendar.<\/p>\n

Both of these events are in France, with Rinderknech expected to receive a wildcard for the Paris Masters<\/a> and he already has direct entry to the ATP 250 tournament in Metz.<\/p>\n

When will Valentin Vacherot play next?<\/p>\n

While Rinderknech may not be likely to play in Basel this year, Shanghai Masters champion Vacherot<\/a> will be back in competition next week.<\/p>\n

As a result of his breakthrough run to becoming a Masters 1000 champion, Vacherot has received a wildcard for the Swiss Indoors event<\/a>, alongside three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka<\/a> and Australian Open<\/a> junior champion Henry Bernet.<\/p>\n

This is where Vacherot will look to continue his nine-match winning streak, with potential first round matches against the likes of Taylor Fritz<\/a>, Ben Shelton<\/a> and Holger Rune<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Vacherot is also still entered into an ATP Challenger tournament in South Korea, but it appears unlikely that he will travel to Asia after returning to Europe.<\/p>\n

Like Rinderknech, the Monegasque is also in contention for a potential wildcard for the Paris Masters wildcard, as he looks to continue rising up the rankings.<\/p>\n
