Ben Foster believes Manchester United fans will be feeling \u2018a little bit worried\u2019 following Sir Jim Ratcliffe\u2019s three-year pledge to Ruben Amorim.<\/p>\n

Nearly a year on from Ruben Amorim\u2019s appointment<\/a> as Manchester United head coach<\/a>, results have yet to improve.<\/p>\n

Amorim has been scrutinised after managing ten wins and 17 defeats in 37 Premier League<\/a> matches. He takes his United team to Anfield this weekend, looking for back-to-back wins in the league for the first time.<\/p>\n

The pressure under Amorim eased a little bit before the October international break as Sir Jim Ratcliffe offered his public backing<\/a>, despite United\u2019s slow start to the 2025\/26 campaign.<\/p>\n

Ratcliffe was speaking to The Business podcast, a production from The Times, when the United co-owner stressed that any reactionary decision-making is unlikely to deliver better results.<\/p>\n

That means Ineos<\/a> are taking a patient approach with Amorim<\/a>, but not everyone is in agreement due to the previous standards set at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

Ratcliffe\u2019s backing of Amorim brought some much-needed clarity to United\u2019s situation in the dugout at least. It doesn\u2019t change the fact that results must improve if the Portuguese coach is to be a success or not.<\/p>\n

Amorim may silence a few critics if United get a positive result against Liverpool on Sunday. A defeat will invite further criticism, while a lot of United fans<\/a> would happily take a draw.<\/p>\n

Former United goalkeeper Ben Foster<\/a> has been speaking about United fans, and believes we should be worried about Ratcliffe\u2019s three-year pledge to Amorim. The British billionaire wants to give the former Sporting CP boss time to turn things around, yet Foster has hinted a change of coach may be a more constructive move.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I was a Man United fan, I\u2019d be a little bit worried about that because, a club like Manchester United, it\u2019s always about progression.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got to be seen to be progressing and as it stands at the minute they are not progressing.\u201c10th in the league at the minute. It\u2019s just the lack of consistency. Obviously, they\u2019ve won the game against Sunderland now before the international break, but they\u2019ve got some tough games coming up.<\/p>\n

\u201cLiverpool on Sunday. It\u2019s that consistency that they need to find. If they can start to do the three, four, five games winning in a row, then they can really shoot up the table. But as it stands at the minute, it\u2019s so hit and miss.\u201d<\/p>\n

18 United players<\/a> will be returning from international duty without any fresh injury setbacks.<\/p>\n

Their immediate focus will be on the next game against Liverpool on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Then, United host Brighton before travelling to Nottingham Forest in two winnable games.<\/p>\n

Then they face Tottenham Hotspur and Everton in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
