Francisco Cerundolo has noticed something changing on the ATP Tour in recent years.<\/p>\n

Cerundolo, who has recently been praised by Andre Agassi<\/a>, is currently the world number 21 and has been ranked three places higher.<\/p>\n

The Argentine has been a professional tennis player since 2018, and Cerundolo<\/a> was active on the ATP Tour<\/a> for the retirements of both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now as one of the top men\u2019s singles players, Cerundolo has spoken about what he has noticed is different about the ATP Tour in 2025.<\/p>\n

Alcaraz and Sinner have dominated the ATP Tour in 2025<\/a>, and have now shared the last eight Grand Slam titles.<\/p>\n

However, Cerundolo believes that apart from Alcaraz<\/a> and Sinner<\/a>, there is little to separate the rest of the ATP Tour, which he thinks is good for the sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell I think it\u2019s good for all of us, because I mean you know\u2026well Carlos and Jannik are a step ahead of all of the players,\u201d Cerundolo said in a press conference at an Ultimate Tennis Showdown<\/a> (UTS) event in Hong Kong. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think they are playing really good, so if they\u2019re locked in and playing good it is tough to beat them, but besides them I think the level is super tight for all the players, anyone can beat anyone. So, I think that\u2019s a good thing, because if you go into a tournament and you don\u2019t have those players, you know you can win the tournament or maybe you can lose in the first or second round. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut, since the first round it\u2019s a tough match, I mean maybe five, six years ago, you had some matches that when you see the draw you say maybe this match is going to be a good match, I\u2019m going to win it and now you enter the court and you have I think not even one match where you can say this is going to be normal, you have I think close matches. But as I said, you can win a Masters 1000 or not.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cerundolo\u2019s point was somewhat proven at the most recent ATP 1000 tournament, where qualifier Valentin Vacherot won the Shanghai Masters<\/a> title.<\/p>\n

Vacherot<\/a> was the world number 204 prior to the tournament, but has since shot up the rankings to become a top 40 player.<\/p>\n

The Monegasque is one of five maiden Masters 1000 champions in 2025, with Alcaraz winning all three of the other titles in Monte Carlo, Rome and Cincinnati.<\/p>\n

There is only one ATP 1000 tournament left this year, which is the Paris Masters, where Alexander Zverev is the defending champion<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cerundolo has been one of the players who has enjoyed deep runs at Masters 1000 tournaments this year, reaching one semifinal and two quarterfinals.<\/p>\n

However, this form has not translated to the Grand Slams, with Cerundolo particularly disappointing at Roland Garros<\/a> and Wimbledon, where he lost in the first round.<\/p>\n

While he has not been able to showcase his talent at the Grand Slam tournaments this year, Cerundolo did win the UTS event in Hong Kong after beating Jenson Brooksby in the final.<\/p>\n

After winning the event, Cerundolo posted a message on Instagram, \u201cUTS champion!! Amazing days playing this great event!! Thanks to everyone involved. We keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cerundolo will now look to translate this form from the unique format of UTS to the ATP Tour, with just two tournaments left on his schedule.<\/p>\n
