Freddie Flintoff<\/a> admits he has felt \u2018guilt\u2019 over Ricky Hatton<\/a>\u2019s death.<\/p>\n Hatton was found dead at his home in Hyde, Greater Manchester<\/a>, by his long-term manager and close friend Paul Speak on September 14.<\/p>\n On Thursday, a coroner\u2019s court heard that Hatton was found hanged<\/a> and was last seen by his family two days previously.<\/p>\n Flintoff, who attended Hatton\u2019s funeral at Manchester Cathedral last Friday<\/a>, said he was unaware of the former world champion\u2019s struggle with depression<\/a> until they sat down together and spoke on the \u2018Hidden Side Of Sport\u2019 documentary in 2012.<\/p>\n \u2018It was quite close to home in a lot of ways,\u2019 Flintoff said when asked about Hatton\u2019s death.<\/p>\n \u2018Ricky, one of the great men, you know, I met him years ago. We did a thing for Sky Sports<\/a> and I went on the pads and he started hitting me and I was a fan as well.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018He\u2019s charming, he\u2019s funny, our careers run parallel with each other at the height, at the same time. I went to his fights\u2026 we had nights out in the Press Club in Manchester and we\u2019ve sung karaoke together and I never knew all these things that he was struggling with until we sat down.<\/p>\n \u2018When we started talking, obviously, he was so honest about what he had been going through and what he felt. And then, as he was talking, I was, like, relating to it. I\u2019ve felt like that, that\u2019s what I\u2019ve been like. Then it just turned into a chat about two blokes being really honest.<\/p>\n To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web \u2018I suppose that documentary changed and I wasn\u2019t going to give as much away about myself but then felt obliged to actually if he\u2019s doing this.<\/p>\n \u2018This working class hero from Manchester who goes into the ring, he fights, all heart. He\u2019s funny. You see him like doing stand up routines at press conferences and he feels like this. And then obviously what\u2019s happened over the past two weeks, it\u2019s been devastating. For obviously his friends, his family but anyone who has been in contact with Ricky. I\u2019ve been in contact with his manager Speaky, obviously he\u2019s broken.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t Asked when he last saw Hatton, Flintoff said: \u2018I sat with him a while ago on a train. I got on a train and he\u2019d been somewhere.<\/p>\n \u2018We sat together all the way back up to Manchester, quite unexpected. I think it\u2019s like all these things, when something like that happens. You speak and everyone says, \u2018he seemed fine\u2019, \u2018he seemed all right\u2019, \u2018he was looking forward to fighting in the next few weeks out in Dubai<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018There\u2019s almost a guilt\u2026 it\u2019s like \u2013 how people didn\u2019t know? The one thing I found cover the past few years, it\u2019s happened to more and more people.<\/p>\n \u2018With Graham Thorpe in cricket\u2026 absolute great man, someone who is thought of so dearly by everyone who he played with and everyone he coached.<\/p>\n \u2018You just feel like, \u2018if only we would have known\u2019.
