{"id":20663,"date":"2025-07-24T16:27:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T16:27:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/20663\/"},"modified":"2025-07-24T16:27:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T16:27:08","slug":"hamilton-pours-cold-water-on-ferraris-new-suspension-hype","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/20663\/","title":{"rendered":"Hamilton pours cold water on Ferrari&#8217;s new suspension hype"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportmagazine.com\/database\/drivers\/lewis-hamilton\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lewis Hamilton<\/a> has poured cold water on the prospect of Ferrari taking a big step forward as a result of the new suspension the Scuderia is introducing at the Belgian Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>As Formula 1 rolls into Spa for the 13th round of the season, much attention has been drawn to Ferrari\u2019s newest technical upgrade: a revised suspension system expected to boost its competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>The suspension has been in development for months and its goal is to help the team with setting up the ride height of its car, something with which Ferrari has struggled this year.<\/p>\n<p>However, Hamilton remains cautious and pragmatic about just how much of a difference the upgrade might make.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if Spa would be the venue to finally see what Ferrari\u2019s car is truly capable of, Hamilton responded: \u201cNo. Firstly, we\u2019ll get to test the suspension tomorrow and I\u2019m sure there\u2019s going to be learnings from it. We\u2019ll kind of figure out how to fine-tune it and try to extract performance from it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the hype surrounding the upgrade, Hamilton said that on the simulator there was \u201cno difference,\u201d though he acknowledged that \u201cacross different circuits perhaps there\u2019ll be benefits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Addressing questions about a recent filming day at Mugello where Ferrari ran the car with new parts, Hamilton was quick to downplay any revelations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe didn\u2019t test. It was a photo shoot day, basically. So did like 10 laps or whatever.
